Origin is a range of beautiful contemporary furniture by Spanish specialists Point.
“Origin looks like a simple collection, and it is. In fact, that’s the intention behind its design and is its defining feature because, despite what one may think, simple, straight forward pieces are the most difficult thing to design”, says Designer Mario Ruiz.
Faithful to the idea of “less is more” coined by the architect Mies van der Rohe, one of the fathers of modern architecture, Mario demonstrates with a few simple lines that a discreet gesture can go a long way.

Description
The Origin collection features both exterior lounging and dining solutions.
All the pieces in the collection can be stacked, whether they are tables, sofas, loungers, armchairs or chairs. They also fit into different compositions with great ease, creating living, dining and relaxing areas. The dimensions are precise and have been carefully studied so that it is possible to create compositions either for spaces measuring just a few metres or for large areas. These three key elements make Origin a versatile ally both for the home and for contract or hospitality projects.
Origin specifies the highest quality exterior fabrics coupled with waterproof liners.

The structure of all the pieces is made from powder painted aluminium. Perfect for the Algarve sun intense summers and 100% recyclable at the end of its useful life. The surface of the seats and backs of the chairs and loungers are made from texiline and the cushions are upholstered in fabrics with guaranteed resistance against sun exposure. In line with our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have sought to make Origin a long-lasting collection in terms of both materials and design beyond ephemeral trends because without durability there is no sustainability.
The Designer - Mario Ruiz
Mario Ruiz has a degree in Industrial Design from the Elisava design school in Barcelona. He began his professional career on his own in 1995, mainly carrying out office furniture projects. More recently his include; technology, office, home furniture, outdoor and lighting for internationally recognized firms such as Siemens, Thomson, Schneider Electric, and of course Joquer.
Mario has received prestigious awards, including several Red Dot, several IF, Design Plus and Wallpaper awards *.

The lounging Origin range includes 2 sofas, an armchair, 4 different modules for large layouts and 3 sizes of coffee table.
The Dining Origin range includes 2 dining chairs, and 3 sizes of dining table with 4 top choices.
A reasonably priced sun lounger completes the range.

Powdered Coated Aluminium
Powder coated aluminium with epoxy resin binder.
The aluminium used by POINT undergoes a powder-coating process that guarantees high durability, corrosion resistance and great colour stability outdoors. This finish, which is composed of polyester resins, pigments and TGIC-free additives, provides an even surface that is smooth to the touch and is easy to maintain.
Standard colours are Mineral White and Gunmetal Grey, chosen to be adaptable to almost any exterior scheme.
In addition to the standard colours, POINT offers an exclusive selection of Signature colours, which increases the options for customisation and allows each range to be further adapted for different projects and settings. Contact us for details.
